The
Four Principal Headmen of the Cherokee Nation were chosen for
their outstanding
leadership abilities in strategy and warfare. Their
titles within the tribe were the Wolf,
the Raven (the wartime Chief), the Fox, and the Owl.
The interesting thing about this is
that even though they are the tribe's leaders, each individual
clan also has their leaders. These were the Four Paramount Leaders.
